The Angel Step Inn Walk-In Resource Center was established in 1999 to provide domestic violence services to women who are not in need of shelter and/or not prepared to leave their batterer. The program provides crisis counseling, domestic violence education, individual and group counseling, case management for linkage to social services, and substance abuse treatment. Angel Step Inn Walk-In Center targets recipients of public assistance who experience Domestic Violence as a barrier to self-sufficiency, particularly mono-lingual Spanish speakers.
Some of Angel Step Inn Activities Include:
- Comprehensive needs assessment
- Treatment planning
- Individual and group counseling
- Case management
- Linkage and transportation to social services
Transitions
The Transitions Program also operates out of Angel Step Inn and is geared at helping homeless victims of domestic violence and those fleeing abuse to regain self-sufficiency. The Transitions Program provides housing case management, vocational/educational counseling, and mental health therapy. The Transitions Program also has a house off-site with 10 beds for homeless victims and their children. All Transitions Program services are provided free of charge.
